Korsmo Construction’s relationship with Kent Covenant Church dates back to 2007, when we started initial work to remodel and expand the congregation’s main building and existing sanctuary. This work included new construction of 5,159 square feet of office space addition, 365 square feet of storage and an electrical room, and 10,864 square feet of classroom space added to the existing sanctuary. A newly constructed café connected to a commons and gathering area was also added to allow the church to accommodate many patrons and host a variety of events.
Our positive working relationship with the church on this project then led to the construction of the new, 5,412 square foot Student Ministries Youth Center in 2013. The freestanding structure included a multi-purpose chapel with a stage, meeting rooms, classrooms, a full kitchen, restrooms, and a connecting walkway from the Student Ministries and Youth Center to the main church building. The new foyer and “main street” common area provides easy circulation, and the fireside room just off the foyer offers a comfortable cafe atmosphere for gatherings.
