Alissa Capuano

Summer Intern

Alissa joined Korsmo as a 2017 summer intern. She is currently attending Seattle University and studying Civil Engineering. She is working on the Olympic High School renovation and some of her duties include: quality control walks, helping with submittals, RFI’s, meeting minutes and taking project photos.

Amanda supports Project Managers, Project Engineers and Superintendents to ensure our projects are completed successfully and to our clients’ expectations.

Brandon Brazas

Project Manager

Brandon started working at Korsmo Construction in 2012 as a Project Engineer and was promoted to a Project Manager in 2016. He graduated from Washington State University with a BS in Construction Management. Brandon is responsible for project buyouts, budget maintenance and the overall delivery of the construction project.

Bryan Ryerse

Project Manager

Bryan joined Korsmo Construction in 2017 as a Project Manager. He graduated from Eastern Washington University with an MS in Communication. He has over 10 years of previous work experience in the construction industry. Bryan is responsible for project buyouts, budget maintenance and the overall delivery of the construction project.

Byron Schmidt

Estimating Manager

Byron joined Korsmo Construction in 2004. He is responsible for developing complete, accurate, and thorough construction estimates from concept through completion.  Byron works closely with other project team members to assist with cost control, budgeting, and value engineering.  He is active in both negotiated and hard-bid markets. Byron’s previous experience as a Project Manager gives him a strong understanding of many building types and delivery methods, including design-build contracts for the federal government and complex GC/CM projects. Major duties include contract management, conceptual design estimates, cost control, budgeting, value engineering, contract compliance, and maintaining positive relations within the project team.

Chad Wirth

Project Manager

Chad joined Korsmo Construction in 2006 as a Project Manager. Before coming to Korsmo he earned his MBA in Project Management and worked several years in the mobile and modular building industry. As a Project Manager he is responsible for project buyouts, budget maintenance and the overall delivery of the construction project. Chad enjoys volunteering in the community and works with his church, the Tacoma Rescue Mission and he lectures at a local college to help prepare students for a career in construction management.

Dave Hale

Estimator

Dave joined Korsmo Construction in 2015 as a Project Engineer, and he became an Estimator in 2016. He graduated from Philadelphia University with a BS degree in Construction Management and moved to the NW a few years after graduation. As an Estimator, he assists project team members with cost control, budgeting, value engineering and schedule analysis.

Davis Engel

Site Safety Officer

Davis joined Korsmo in 2017. He is a recent graduate from Central Washington University’s Safety & Health program.  He relocated to manage the site safety at the 2 year Paradise Inn Project on Mount Rainier with complicated and unique safety aspects.  We appreciate the knowledge and enthusiasm that he brings to Korsmo.

Don Coovert

Safety Director

Don joined Korsmo Construction in 2003. He brings over 13 years of field experience as a carpenter to his role as Safety Director. His passion to provide safety awareness to all personnel on and off-site has helped promote our company-wide Accident Prevention Program. Don is a current member and past President of the Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board, and Past Chairman of the AGC of Washington’s Safety Committee. Don is also responsible for our environmental policies and procedures including SWPPP, CESCL, and EPA Regulations.

Ed Goerger

Site Safety Manager

Ed started with Korsmo in 2003.  He has worked as a carpenter, foreman, and site safety & health officer. In 2018, Ed was promoted to Site Safety Manager, working on all jobsites to support the field’s safety efforts and assist with pre-planning, training and audits.

Eric Guizzetti

Virtual Design and Construction Manager

Eric joined Korsmo Construction in 2017 as a Virtual Design and Construction Manager. He is responsible for researching innovative ways to utilize VDC/BIM data to create unique project experiences both internally and externally. Eric facilitates the use of model processes to support construction planning, logistics, estimating, commissioning and coordination.

Evan Haines

Project Manager

Evan joined Korsmo Construction in 2013 as a Project Engineer and in 2018 he was promoted to Project Manager. He has a BS degree in Economics from Westmont College and he studied construction management online while working at his first construction position out of college. Evan is responsible for managing and maintaining all critical jobsite documents (RFI’s, Quality Control, Submittals, ASI’s Live Plans) and ensuring that all project information is coordinated between owner, architect and subcontractors.

 

Everett Kvamme

Project Engineer

Everett joined Korsmo Construction in 2018 with more than twenty years experience in the construction industry. His background includes drafting, estimating, quality control and Project Management. As project engineer, Everett is responsible for managing and maintaining critical job site documents and ensuring that project information is coordinated between owner, architect and subcontractors.

 

Francis Bergford

Project Engineer

Francis joined Korsmo Construction in 2018 as a Project Engineer. After attending Washington State University, Francis was deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Returning to the states, he worked as a Electrical Project Engineer at Vigor Shipyard working with electrical tank water heaters. Francis is responsible for managing and maintaining all critical job site documents (RFI’s, Quality Control, Submittals, ASI’s Live Plans) and ensuring that all project information is coordinated between owner, architect and subcontractors.

Greg Menefee

Summer Intern

Greg has joined Korsmo Construction as a Summer Intern. He is working on the Eastside Community Center project and some of his duties will include: quality control walks, helping with submittals, RFI’s, meeting minutes and taking project photos.

Greg Primm

President

Greg joined Korsmo Construction in 2007 as a Project Manager and has held positions as Senior Project Manager and Vice President of Operations before becoming company President in 2018. He is responsible for providing oversight and leadership to all divisions of the firm on a daily basis. Greg has over 21 years of experience in the construction industry.

Joe Morgan

Joe Joined Korsmo in 2002. He provides overall supervision to tradesmen, subcontractors and suppliers, making sure that codes are met, schedules are maintained and materials are available. Joe works collaboratively with all project team members to complete a successful project.

Joe Shoemaker

Project Engineer

Joe joined Korsmo Construction in 2017 as a Project Engineer. He graduated from Washington State University with a BS in Civil Engineering a minor in Construction Management. Joe is responsible for managing and maintaining all critical jobsite documents (RFI’s, Quality Control, Submittals, ASI’s Live Plans) and ensuring that all project information is coordinated between owner, architect and subcontractors.

John Ashworth

Project Manager

Year joined Korsmo Construction: 2012

John joined our team in 2013 with over 30 years of experience. His career started in the construction industry as a carpenter, graduating from Highline Community college with his associates. He then spent nearly ten years in field supervision, in the last 20 years as a Project Manager he has been overseeing dozens of multi million-dollar projects. His experience ranges from gaming and hospitality projects for Tribal clients to heavy industrial work, meeting spaces, parking garages, education facilities and medical buildings. John’s diverse construction background, strong communication skills and experience make him an excellent fit for your project.

John S. Korsmo Jr.

Owner

As the second generation owner of Korsmo construction, John has been leading our firm since 1986. He is involved in all aspects of the business and provides overall guidance and leadership to the entire Korsmo Construction team. John is a member of numerous boards including the AGC of Washington, Broadway Center for the Performing Arts, PLU School of Business Executive Advisory Board, and he serves as a Lakewood Water Commissioner.

Karin Hill

Office Manager

Karen joined Korsmo Construction in 2017 as Office Manager. She manages the Project Coordinators and the Receptionist. She also manages portions of the IT responsibilities, works with bid and bond documents, and is currently working on creating new training materials and process manuals.

Mackenzie McFadden

Summer Intern

Mackenzie joined Korsmo as a 2017 Summer intern. He is currently enrolled at Central Washington University in the Construction Management program and he has an AA degree from Pierce College in Puyallup. He is currently working on the Telecare Mental Health Services project and helping with RFI’s and submittals.

Mark Stoeser

Preconstruction Manager

Mark Stoeser joined Korsmo Construction in 2006 and has 16 years of construction experience. Mark’s first project with Korsmo was the Mt. Rainier New Visitor Center and Paradise Inn Renovation from 2006-2008. He has been a project manager with Korsmo for roughly 10 years and has filled the preconstruction manager role on multiple GCCM projects for the past 2 years.

 

Matt Struthers

Project Manager

Matt joined Korsmo Construction in 2017 as a Project Manager. He graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Environmental Engineering Geology. He has over 27 years of experience in the construction industry. Matt is responsible for project buyouts, budget maintenance and the overall delivery of the construction project.

Pat Riggs

Director of Finance

Pat joined Korsmo Construction in 2015. He has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, holding various financial, administrative and managerial roles ranging from analyst to COO. As Director of Finance at Korsmo Construction, Pat is responsible for all financial elements of the business including cash management, accounting, forecasting, administrative functions, banking and communication with outside advisors. He stays active in the industry as Director of South Sound CFMA and as a member of IMA. Pat is also highly involved in his community through youth soccer programs and teaching science, art and woodshop to home-schooled students.

Phyllis Higgins

Accounts Payable Accountant

Phyllis joined Korsmo Construction in 2014 as an Accounts Payable Accountant. Before joining Korsmo she owned her own management business and graduated with a BS degree in Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University. Phyllis is responsible for the daily financial interactions between vendors and the Korsmo field operations teams.

 

Rachael Pease

Diversity Program Manager

Rachael earned her LPN at Bates technical college. She worked 5 years with Tacoma General Hospital before becoming a full time mom and volunteer for 20 years with her children’s school and community. Returning to work in 2010, she was a receptionist at Jody Miller Construction and fell in love with the industry, moving her way up to Project Manager assistant gaining knowledge that enabled her to join the Korsmo team in 2014 as a Project Coordinator and assisted with outreach before being promoted to Diversity Program Manager.

Scott Ramsey

Director of Marketing & Business Development

Scott joined Korsmo Construction in 2010. He oversees Marketing and Business Development initiatives for Korsmo across all markets. Scott is active in the greater Tacoma community; serving on the UW-Tacoma Urban Studies Advisory Board and as a member of the City of Tacoma’s Fiscal Sustainability Task Force and Tacoma 2025 Advisory Committee. A graduate (85) of Pacific Lutheran University, Scott also sits on the School of the Arts and Communication Advisory Board.

Seth Coombs

Project Engineer

Seth joined Korsmo Construction in 2017 as a Project Engineer. He graduated from the University of Washington with a BS degree in Construction Management. As Project Engineer, he works with RFI’s, submittals and communicates with our subcontractors.

Shannon Miller

Payroll Specialist

Shannon joined Korsmo Construction in 2017 as a Payroll Specialist. She is responsible for processing the weekly payroll, processing new hires/terminations, and handling payments for benefits and tax payments.

Steve Rich

Senior Preconstruction Manager

Steve joined Korsmo Construction in 2013 as a Senior Preconstruction Manager.  Steve leads Korsmo’s preconstruction and design-build efforts. He focuses on achieving our clients goals and objectives while maintaining the project constraints of budget, quality and schedule. His experience includes over 25 years in the construction industry and over 250M in design-build & design-assist projects. Steve holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management and a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Washington State University. He is certified as a Designated Design-Build Professional (DBIA) by the Design-Build Institute of America, a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) by the United States Green Building Council.

Tasheena Housman

Project Accountant

Tasheena joined Korsmo Construction in 2017 as a Project Accountant. She has a B.S. degree from the University of Wyoming and has over 10 years of experience in project accounting. As a Project Accountant, she is responsible for all project related transactions, client billings, subcontractor billings/payments, and compliance.

Will joined Korsmo Construction in 2011. He graduated from Washington State University with a BS in Construction Management.
