Brandon Brazas joined Korsmo Construction in 2012. He graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor degree in Construction Management. As project manager, Brandon is responsible for preconstruction management, contract management and compliance, subcontractor coordination, budgeting, and cost control. He is a strong communicator and facilitates an open and collaborative environment with all members of the project team.

Brian Isaksen joined Korsmo Construction in 2002. He provides demonstrated success leading large field teams on highly challenging, occupied project sites. Brian has expertise in developing and maintaining critical path method schedules, including aggressively scheduled projects. His responsibilities include scheduling, coordinating, and directing the progress of work on site and daily supervision and direction of field operations.

Bryan Ryerse joined Korsmo Construction in 2017. He graduated from Eastern Washington University with a masters in Communication. He has over 10 years of experience in the construction industry. As as senior project manager, Bryan is responsible for project team leadership, project buyouts, budget maintenance, and the overall delivery of the project.

Byron Schmidt

Director of Estimating

Byron Schmidt joined Korsmo Construction in 2004. He provides accurate estimates throughout preconstruction and has extensive experience developing pricing for all project types and delivery methods. Through his prior experience as a project manager, Byron has proven ability to develop complete, accurate, and timely estimates from concept through completion. He works collaboratively with the entire project team to assist with cost control, budgeting, and value engineering. He has been instrumental in establishing and maintaining accurate budgets on large-scale and complex projects.

Chad Wirth

Project Manager

Chad Wirth joined Korsmo Construction in 2006. Prior to Korsmo, he earned his MBA in Project Management and worked for several years in the mobile and modular building industry. As a project manager, Chad is responsible for project buyouts, budget maintenance, and the overall delivery of the construction project. He enjoys volunteering in the community, with his church, and the Tacoma Rescue Mission, and he lectures at a local college to help prepare students for a career in construction management.

Christy Graham

Christy Graham has more than 20 years of experience as a construction superintendent, project manager, and journeyman carpenter. Her organizational, analytical, technical, and communication skills ensure quality production, increased efficiency and effectiveness, safety, and quality service. Christy has been recognized for successfully managing large fast-track projects through a collaborative team-build approach while providing a seamless, timely, and cost-effective process during construction.

Virtual Design and Construction Coordinator

Cody Branch joined Korsmo Construction in 2019 as a virtual design and construction coordinator. Since graduating from a CAD/BIM training program, Cody gained experience through various industries, including aerospace, which has been a asset for our current and future work with drone technology.

Dan Mundle

Director of Business Development

Dan Mundle has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He identifies business opportunities for the company and works closely with the marketing department on corporate branding and proposal strategies. He develops a broad range of contacts and relationships within the community while representing the company at various association events. Dan helps teams identify opportunities and ways to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Daniel Velasco

Daniel Velasco joined Korsmo Construction in 2003. He has worked on a wide variety of construction projects, including new construction and renovation of healthcare facilities, office buildings, and religious facilities. Daniel’s exceptional organization, communication, and technical skills translate into a efficient, clean, and safe jobsite. He is responsible for all jobsite duties, including crew supervision, coordination and management of subcontractors, and shop drawing review. Daniel has also been instrumental in establishing Korsmo’s quantity tracking and production reporting systems.

Davis Engel

Site Safety and Health Officer

Davis Engel joined Korsmo Construction in 2017. He earned a bachelor degree in Safety and Health Management at Central Washington University, where he also played college baseball. This education and experience, along with his passion to lead and promote a safe workplace, makes him a valuable member of our team. Davis managed the unique site safety requirements on the Mt. Rainier Paradise Inn Annex historic renovation project. The project was rife with logistic challenges, including extreme snow levels and site access issues. His effective site safety management on the project was commended by the occupational safety and health program manager with the National Park Service.

Don Coovert

Safety Director

Don Coovert joined Korsmo Construction in 2003. He brings over 10 years of experience as a carpenter to his role as safety director. His passion to provide safety awareness to all personnel, on and off site, has helped promote Korsmo’s companywide Accident Prevention Program. Don previously
served as president of the Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board and past chairman of the Associated General Contractors of Washington Safety Committee. Don is familiar with environmental policies and procedures, including stormwater pollution prevention plans, erosion and sediment control, and EPA regulations.

Ed Goerger

Ed Goerger joined Korsmo Construction in 2003. He has worked as a carpenter, foreman, and site safety and health officer. In 2018, Ed was promoted to site safety manager. He works on all jobsites to support the field’s safety efforts and assist with pre-planning, training, and audits.

Evan Haines

Project Manager

Evan Haines joined Korsmo Construction in 2013. He earned a bachelor degree in Economics from Westmont College and also studied construction management. Evan has expertise in contract management, subcontractor management, critical path method scheduling, budgeting, and cost control. He supports quality assurance, safety management, invoicing, and budgets while assisting the project superintendent in implementing the schedule.

Everett Kvamme

Everett Kvamme joined Korsmo Construction in 2018 with more than 20 years experience in the construction industry. His background includes drafting, estimating, quality control and project management. Everett manages a variety of project types, providing quality control, safety management, critical path method scheduling, invoicing, budget management, logistics, constructability review, and value analyses.

Forrest Huff

Virtual Design and Construction Manager

Forrest Huff joined Korsmo Construction in early 2018 as the virtual design and construction manager. He has extensive experience in virtual design and construction/building information modeling (VDC/BIM) on a wide range of project types and delivery methods. Forrest also has experience as a journeyman-level electrician. His exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills help to create and manage the critical path method schedule in 2D as well as virtually. Forrest’s application of VDC/BIM has a powerful impact on the overall quality of the project.

Gene Pinard

Gene Pinard is an experienced construction manager and superintendent on a wide range of construction projects, including healthcare, educational, commercial, and residential facilities. His expertise includes scheduling, safety, subcontractor coordination, client and subcontractor relations, and quality control. Gene has a strong understanding of architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. His construction skills include site layout, foundations, concrete work, wood framing, concrete masonry unit structures, structural steel, tilt-up, Gypsum wall board, finish work, doors and hardware, punch lists, and closeout.

Greg Primm joined Korsmo Construction in 2007 as a project manager and held positions as senior project manager and vice president of operations before becoming company president in 2018. Greg’s extensive background in the construction industry includes project management, operations management, and construction and contract management. He provides executive-level oversight and leadership throughout the project duration.

Jake Barton

Jake Barton joined Korsmo Construction in 2003. His exceptional organizational, communication, and technical skills ensure a well-coordinated and supervised project. Jake is responsible for all jobsite duties, including scheduling, shop drawing review, crew supervision, and the coordination and management of subcontractors.

Jim Gates

Superintendent

Jim Gates joined Korsmo Construction in 1997. He leads large teams on challenging occupied project sites, including the renovation and new construction of large facilities with various project delivery methods. Jim is responsible for daily site supervision and direction of field operations.

Joe Morgan

Director of Field Operations

Joe Morgan joined Korsmo Construction in 2002. As director of field operations, Joe is responsible for assisting the principal in charge and superintendents on all of Korsmo’s projects. He oversees the implementation of tools used in the field to ensure effective operations. He is also responsible for identification of field operational solutions to improve productivity, as well as overseeing the implementation of best practices in the field to make the project team more efficient. His role is crucial to the organization, as he works collaboratively with all team members to deliver a successful project. Joe was recently appointed as an employer trustee on the UBC Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee’s South Puget Sound Subcommittee.

Joe Shoemaker

Joe Shoemaker joined Korsmo Construction in 2017. He graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering a minor in Construction Management. Joe is responsible for managing and maintaining all critical jobsite documents and ensuring that all project information is coordinated between the owner, architect, and subcontractors.

John Cross

Director of Project Management

John Cross joined Korsmo Construction in 2013. He has extensive experience managing a wide range of projects in the Puget Sound region. As director of project management, John is responsible for overall management of the project team throughout preconstruction and construction. His responsibilities include staffing the project teams; ensuring compliance of all contractual, permitting, and legal requirements; and oversight of all financial, scheduling, quality control, risk management, and safety control systems.

John O’Connor

Year joined Korsmo Construction: 2010

John O’Connor joined Korsmo Construction in 2010. He has more than 35 years of construction experience. His organizational, communication, and technical skills ensures a well-coordinated, clean, and safe project site. John is on site full time, proactively communicating with team members on progress, quality, and job site details. He has supervised field teams on numerous logistically challenging projects located in and around occupied facilities. John was the on-site superintendent on the Mt. Rainier Paradise Inn Annex historic renovation project for the National Park Service.

John S. Korsmo, Jr.

Owner

As the second-generation owner of Korsmo Construction, John Korsmo, Jr. has been leading the firm since 1986. He is involved in all aspects of the business and provides overall guidance and leadership to the entire Korsmo team. John is a member of numerous boards, including the Associated General Contractors of Washington, Tacoma Arts Live, Pacific Lutheran University School of Business Executive Advisory Board, and he serves as a Lakewood Water Commissioner.

Justin Swider joined Korsmo Construction in 2013. As superintendent, he is responsible for crew supervision, coordination and management of subcontractors, and shop drawing review. Justin is on-site full time, proactively communicating with team members on progress, quality, and jobsite concerns. He has worked on a wide variety of construction projects, including new construction and renovation of educational facilities, healthcare facilities, office buildings, and religious centers.

As project coordinator, Keira supports project managers, project engineers, and superintendents to ensure our projects are completed successfully and meet our clients’ expectations.

Lola Douglas

Project Coordinator

Lola Douglas provides project management assistance on a wide range of projects, including educational facilities, commercial properties, and historic renovation. Her responsibilities include project documentation, compliance tracking, 360-degree video archiving, and project closeout documents. Lola was the on-site project engineer for the Mt. Rainier Paradise Inn Annex historic renovation project for the National Park Service.

Lynn Enebrad

Marketing Manager

Lynn Enebrad joined Korsmo Construction in 2019. She has more than 20 years of experience in marketing communications in the general contracting, consulting, and education fields. Lynn provides corporate communications and professional proposal/qualifications packages for a wide range of project pursuits. She has volunteered her time and expertise to provide marketing and fundraising materials for several non-profit organizations in the South Sound area.

Mark Stoeser

Preconstruction Manager

Mark Stoeser joined Korsmo Construction in 2006. Since that time, he has been involved in almost all of Korsmo’s projects. As preconstruction manager, Mark is central in the development and implementation of a variety of preconstruction systems, including constructability reviews, value engineering, phasing recommendations, developing bidding documents, conducting public bidding, strategizing outreach events and bid coverage, and transitioning bid and system information to the construction team.

Matthew Struthers

Matthew Struthers joined Korsmo Construction in 2017. He graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Environmental Engineering and Geology. He has extensive experience managing a wide variety of project types and sizes. Throughout his career as a superintendent, quality control manager, project manager, and senior project manager, Matthew has been responsible for all phases of construction and the life of a contract, including estimating, buyout, contract negotiations, project controls, bonding, work-in-progress reports, and cash flow analysis.

As a project accountant, Natasha is responsible for all project related transactions, client billings, subcontractor billings/payments, and compliance.

Pat Riggs

Director of Finance

Pat joined Korsmo Construction in 2015. He has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, holding various financial, administrative, and managerial roles ranging from analyst to chief operating officer. As director of finance, Pat is responsible for all financial elements of the business, including cash management, accounting, forecasting, banking, and communication with outside advisors. He stays active in the industry as Director of South Sound Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and as a member of the Institute of Management Accountants. Pat is also highly involved in his community through youth soccer programs and teaching science, art, and woodshop to home-schooled students.

Phil Milianis

Project Manager

Phil Milianis joined Korsmo Construction in 2016. He brings more than 20 years of experience in design and construction management of large, complex projects, including negotiated bid, design-bid-build, and design-build delivery. His project experience includes new construction and renovation of a wide variety of facilities, including affordable housing, healthcare, educational, community/non-profit, and commercial properties.

Phyllis Higgins

Phyllis Higgins joined Korsmo Construction in 2014 as an accounts payable accountant. Prior to joining Korsmo, she owned a management consulting business. Phyllis holds a bachelor degree in Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University. She is responsible for accounts payable and the daily financial interactions between vendors and the Korsmo field operations teams.

Rachael Pease

Diversity Program Manager

Rachael Pease joined Korsmo Construction in 2014. She uses creative programs, events, industry associations, and local and regional industry advertising to continuously network within the Local/SBE/MWBE subcontracting community. She also works with small businesses to obtain certification with the Washington State Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises. Through Rachael’s efforts, Korsmo has developed relationships with a broad group of Local/SBE/MWBE firms at all subcontracting tier levels that regularly bid and work on our projects. Prior to her career in the construction industry, Rachael earned certification as a licensed practical nurse at Bates Technical College. She is a member of the Pierce County Community Engagement Task Force, “Downtown on the Go” board member, and a member of the National Association of Women in Construction.

Shannon Anderson

Shannon joined Korsmo Construction in 2017 as a payroll accountant. She is responsible for processing the weekly payroll, human resource policies and procedures, and handling payments for benefits and tax purposes.

Stephen Murphy

Project Manager

Stephen Murphy is an experienced project manager, with expertise in contract management and compliance, subcontractor management and relations, critical path method project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control. He specializes in new construction and renovation of multi-family and affordable housing, commercial, educational, municipal, and federal facilities. His responsibilities include all facets of project implementation and delivery from pre-bid through warranty.

Senior Preconstruction Manager/Design-Build Program Manager

Steve joined Korsmo Construction in 2013. He leads Korsmo’s preconstruction and design-build efforts. With more than 25 years of design-build experience, Steve leads teams with a constant focus on achieving our clients’ needs within budget while optimizing the project’s program, cost, quality, and schedule. His work on design-build projects demonstrates how creative problem-solving skills and focus on function and value help owners create highly functional and durable facilities. Steve holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management and a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Washington State University. He is a certified Designated Design-Build Professional by the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA), Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute, and LEED Accredited Professional by the United States Green Building Council.

Thuli Lushaba joined Korsmo Construction in 2018. Prior to Korsmo, she worked for a drywall contractor and later a residential contractor, providing estimating services and project management of major residential construction projects. As project engineer, she assists the project manager with project controls, including budgeting and scheduling; organization of subcontractors; communicating project schedules and forecasts; interpretation of drawings; review of engineering deliverables; project status reports; budget monitoring; and oversight of project documentation, including requests for information and change orders.

Tim Burtis is an experienced construction service manager. His areas of expertise include project management, field supervision, cost tracking, scheduling, master service agreements, consultant and supply agreements, subcontract management, and warranty work management. Tim’s exceptional communication skills, experience managing commercial tenant improvement projects, and attention to safety and security protocols ensures high-quality projects are completed on time and within budget.

Tisha Bamba joined Korsmo Construction in 2017. As a project coordinator, Tisha supports project managers, project engineers, and superintendents to ensure our projects are completed successfully and meet our clients’ expectations.

Tracey Barbee

Foreman

Tracey Barbee joined Korsmo Construction in 2014. He is involved in all aspects of the project, including safe working conditions, and enforces safe operating procedures on the jobsite. He provides quality control on all work performed on site to ensure compliance with contract specifications and all assemblies are on line and grade. Tracey also tracks rates of production with the superintendent to resolve potential problems early and manages time cards using project-specific budget codes.

Will Floyd

Will joined Korsmo Construction in 2011. He graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor degree in Construction Management. Will is responsible for hard-bid and negotiated cost estimating, conceptual estimating, cost control, value engineering, preconstruction services, and schedule analysis.

Zane Andersson

Estimator

Zane Andersson joined Korsmo Construction in 2016. He brings experience in both project management and field work to his role as an estimator. Zane assists with contract management, conceptual design estimates, cost control, budgeting, value engineering, contract compliance, and maintaining positive relations within the project team.
