Korsmo built the South Puget Intertribal Planning Agency (SPIPA) Professional Center, which provides social services administration in a modern and functional facility owned by the Squaxin Island Tribe. The SPIPA is a consortium of the Squaxin Island, Skokomish, Chehalis, Nisqually, and Shoalwater Bay tribes. The Korsmo team worked collaboratively with all tribal stakeholders to ensure each of their project goals were met.
The building’s design blends well with its natural surroundings and includes a central courtyard area. The design combines a wood frame with storefront windows, metal roof, and rough-sawn cedar siding. Interior features include a reception area with peeler pole supports, multi-paned window walls, and stained concrete floors.
