Through a team-build approach, Korsmo Construction worked closely with designer, owner’s representative, and Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe to build a new community healing clinic to meet the growing need for opioid-use disorder treatment through this medication-assisted treatment. Upon project delivery, Jamestown S’Klallam Healing Clinic was only the third of its kind in the nation—providing full wraparound healthcare services, including medical, dental, counseling, childcare, and social services.
The building design incorporates elements of the Tribe’s culture with unique elements that represent stories of healing, change, and passage as part of the recovery process. The clinic features round timber beams and peeler poles reminiscent of the artistic and architectural traditions of the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe.
This project was constructed throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and experienced significant disruption in material deliveries. By developing critical path method schedules early, with subcontractor input on long-lead procurement items, the Korsmo team was able to mitigate and plan for these challenges, which kept the project on time and in budget
