Korsmo recently constructed the new Arlington Drive Youth Campus for Tacoma Housing Authority. Situated on a 3.5-acre campus, the complex includes a new four-story building with 58 apartments for at-risk young adults, ages 18 to 24 years, and a 12-bed crisis residential center (CRC) for children without families for ages 12 to 17 years.
The 43,539-square-foot apartment building includes elevator access, bike storage, office space, clinical space, a multipurpose community room, computer room, laundry center, restrooms, and on-site parking.
The 5,547-square-foot CRC includes boarding rooms, administrative offices, a common area, demonstration kitchen, dining area, library and study areas, laundry center, restrooms, and on-site parking.
The campus also houses the Community Youth Services organization offices and provides counseling, educational services, and job skills training.
This project involved multiple community and funding partners, including A Way Home-Washington, City of Tacoma, YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties, and Youth Community Services. This project will meet Evergreen Sustainable Development Standards.
