As the first craft brewery in Tacoma, E9 Brewery was originally operating out of a garage adjacent to the historic Engine House No. 9 restaurant, where it had been brewing local ales and supplying them to the restaurant since 1995. As E9 ales became increasingly popular throughout the area, E9 Brewery needed to find a larger space to expand operations.
Korsmo was selected to renovate E9 Brewery’s new warehouse facility in Tacoma’s burgeoning Brewery District. The new facility includes areas for barrel aging, a taproom, production vats, and a brew deck.
Building features include seamless glazing and plywood panels, a bow-string truss, refurbished metal windows, and a glazed overhead garage door that opens the taphouse to the outside.
