UW Tacoma William W. Philip Assembly Hall

The new three-story steel and concrete project is located on Pacific Avenue, in the heart of Tacoma’s downtown renaissance district.  The 22,000 square foot building consists of a large auditorium, retail space, and student gathering spaces with panoramic views of the Washington State Historical Museum, Union Station and Mt. Rainier.

This state-of-the-art addition to the UWT campus replaces an old storage warehouse known as the Dawg Shed. Situated between two existing campus buildings, the structure is connected via interior hallways providing students convenient and efficient access to additional areas.  The completed structure serves as a modern venue for lectures, concerts, banquets, student activities and community events.
