Stillaguamish River Rock C-Store and Fuel Station

This design-build project was a collaborative effort between the Stillaguamish Tribe, Korsmo Construction, and Womer & Associates Architects. Preconstruction services included cost estimating, scheduling, infrastructure development, subcontractor selection, code compliance, and permitting. Site work included extensive export of 21,000 cubic yards of unsuitable soils and import of over 16,000 cubic yards of fill.

The store features two drive-through windows to support tobacco sales, and a large “Beer Cave” walk-in cooler. The fuel station has two 30,000-gallon underground fuel tanks that supply gas and diesel to eight dispensers with 16 pump stations. The 30-foot-tall digital sign and reader board is highly visible to motorists traveling on nearby Interstate 5.

[Korsmo’s] good temperament and willingness to work together as a team made it easy to resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner. That combined with their construction knowledge and their proactive approach in providing reasonable solutions added value to the project by maintaining schedule, budget, and the overall design intent.
