Commercial Projects Ramp Up in 2016

There has been a great deal of growth and potential in the South Puget Sound region lately, including office buildings, financial institutions, medical buildings and retail shopping centers.

Commercial projects have been keeping Korsmo quite busy in the recent months. For example, we recently began renovating the original Titus-Will Service and Tire Center building in Tacoma’s Stadium District, which will become a retail center housing various commercial tenants such as restaurants and shops. The scope of our work includes structural upgrades, demolition and HAZMAT abatement, installation of a new storefront system, replacement of the original mansard roof and the addition of an outdoor patio for a major tenant on the building’s second floor. We also recently completed a project for Suburban Propane in Spanaway, where we constructed a new sales office with an open lobby design to improve the customer experience.

Additionally, several of our Tribal clients are expanding their business enterprises. Korsmo is working with the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe to construct The Point Hotel, a 94-room hotel featuring Coastal Modern design elements; another Korsmo team recently broke ground on the new River Rock Smoke Shop for the Stillaguamish Tribe in Arlington.
